My visit to Jotiba Temple

 It was decided to visit Jyotiba temple on Sunday 17th April 2022.

  As it was a four day holiday, I was going to Sangli with brother. Before going to Sangli, we had gone to Jyotiba hill on 14th April.

 Since Chaitra Pournima is the pilgrimage of Jyotiba Deva, millions of devotees come to Jyotiba mountain, on that day a procession of Sasankathas leaves. Maruti Raite from Sangli was participating in the procession at Sasankathi Jyotiba temple. At three o'clock in the afternoon, we all reached the Jyotiba mountain and then brought Sasankati by car. We gathered in the courtyard of the Yamai temple at five o'clock in the evening, and then we erected the Sasankathi with the Sasankathi garland. The Sasankathi was forty feet high and very heavy in weight. Exercising a lot, we all got up at Sasankati and then completed a tour of Yamai temple and headed towards Jyotiba temple. We reached near Shri Jyotiba Mandir at eight o'clock in the evening, dancing on the Sasankathi at five o'clock. Two days before the Chaitra Yatra, there was a sparse crowd of devotees. At nine o'clock in the evening, when Shree's palanquin arrived for the procession, there was a huge crowd, the roar of roses started and the 'Good in the name of Jyotiba' alarm started. After circling the palanquin, we took the road to Sasankathi and built it near the house of an acquaintance near Sasankathi. And then we went to Sangli, the yatra was very crowded, for some reason we could not go to the yatra but on Sunday we went to Sasankati to bring Sangli back. After reaching Jyotiba mountain, we took some rest and went to see God. I was very curious because I had come to Jyotiba many years ago when I was five years old. We went straight to the temple for the darshan and with all our heart we kept the form of Jyotiba Deva in our eyes, and then we took Sasankathi and left for our village.
